Intelligo Delivers UPK Upgrade Training for a County Agency in Canada

Denver, CO, Nov. 22, 2009 – As part of an upgrade to its Oracle User Productivity Kit (UPK) software, a Canadian county agency selected Intelligo, Inc. to provide training to its 25 e-learning developers. For several years, the agency used UPK to provide web-based training and on-the-job support for its JD Edwards software users. One of the goals behind the upgrade and the training was to expand the web-based training offerings to additional county departments.

"The county represents a fast-growing organization with a strong demand for training," said Bart Rhoten, a senior trainer with Intelligo, Inc. "They use Oracle's User Productivity Kit for multiple employee groups, such as utility billing, park maintenance, and emergency response teams."

Intelligo delivered the UPK developer courses on-site. The training was enriched because there was a mix of both experienced and new developers in each session. This enabled participants to share their experiences and determine best e-learning practices for the county. Intelligo also customized the UPK training to meet the specific needs of the different departments, and provided training not only on the UPK software, but on good instructional design as well.

During the UPK training sessions, instructors and students worked together to develop effective solutions for the county’s unique training needs. For example, the Intelligo instructors showed Maintenance Department personnel how to integrate pictures with detailed examples to develop web-based training for employees learning to operate and maintain equipment in the field.

By combining the power of the latest UPK release with additional developer training, the agency is now ready to expand its web-based training to all of its departments.
