Producer of Live Theatrical Events
A premier promoter and producer of live theatrical events in the United States and Canada needed to implement Oracle’s E-Business Suite software on an aggressive timeline to support a divestiture from its parent company. This premier promoter produces more than 3000 performances each year in more than 40 cities in North America.
While undergoing a rapid E-Business Suite implementation, the company needed to support its business activities and find a way to get employees trained on the new system. Intelligo was selected to provide training and support solutions that would prepare users to do business on the new E-Business Suite software.
The company implemented E-Business Suite Assets, Payables, Receivables, iExpense, General Ledger, and Cash Management modules. Because employees were trying to handle their new roles in the business and a new integrated business system, they needed training that covered both business processes and system tasks.
The company wanted training to be developed rapidly with support consistent and standardized, and repeatable training available. Additionally, because the company's employees were scattered across North America, the company chose a combination of online self-paced training, printable materials and targeted classroom training sessions. This solution provides on-the-job support and standard training for new hires and job change situations.
The company selected Intelligo for our experience in E-Business Suite software and in delivering critical classroom and web-based training solutions under aggressive project timelines.
ASSESSMENT AND PLANNING
Under a rapid and strict deadline, Intelligo used the consolidated process model to determine the best approach for immediate training and ongoing performance support materials for user groups in multiple locations.
Our expertise in using Oracle’s User Productivity Kit (UPK) software to develop effective web-based and classroom training was also a deciding factor. The client had purchased UPK version 3.5, and Intelligo developed web-based training topics for the key business and system processes. Intelligo’s knowledge of E-Business Suite, our library of end-user materials, and our UPK standards and templates enabled Intelligo to create effective web-based and classroom training materials quickly.
BLENDED TRAINING DELIVERY
The end result was a blend of web-based training topics, printable instructions, and quick reference cards that were deployed on the company’s website. Classroom training was supported by both UPK topics and a limited E-Business Suite training environment. This approach enabled online learning for all locations, supplemented by classroom sessions. The e-learning site also provided end-users with on-the-job support at all locations.
Intelligo helped the company maximize its internal resources by allowing the core team to focus on implementing the software while Intelligo leveraged our knowledge and experience to accelerate the training solution. We introduced the client to web-based training topics and the printable documentation delivered through a single website, to enable learners to take advantage of the site for training as well as on-the-job support. We also worked with the company to ensure the format and structure of the materials met the high standards demanded by the company.
The client held a greater acceptance of the web-based training because the UPK topics were incorporated into classroom sessions. The limited E-Business Suite training environment enabled users to get additional hands-on practice to supplement the web-based training simulations. Intelligo delivered this solution on time and under budget, and was rewarded by the knowledge that end-users were well prepared at go-live.
