The Customer

FRx Software Corporation, a part of Microsoft® Business Solutions, provides financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis solutions to customers worldwide. Microsoft® Business Solutions for Analytics- Forecaster ® is the Web-based budgeting and planning solution from FRx Software. FRx Software products have an interface to the general ledgers and ERP systems developed by more than 30 of the leading mid-market General Ledger and ERP solution providers. FRx Forecaster and FRx® Financial Reporter are fully integrated to share data via the FRx® ExpressLink interface.

The Challenge

FRx Software planned the release of their new FRx ® Forecaster product in 2002, and contracted with Intelligo to develop and maintain an installation guide, general user guide, budget administrator's guide, and a comprehensive HTML online Help system for the new product. Recently acquired by Microsoft Corporation, FRx Software became a part of Microsoft Business Solutions division, and needed the documentation and online Help to have a fresh look, and to be fully compliant with Microsoft Technical Publishing standards.

The Solution

Intelligo consultants worked closely with FRx Software developers and subject matter experts during the product development, integration, and testing cycles to ensure the documentation was complete, accurate, and up-to-date in time for release to market. The suite of documentation was created using Adobe FrameMaker and provides stand-alone references for three different target audiences:

		Staff accountants, accounting managers and controllers using the FRx Forecaster Budget Administrator's Guide to set up budgets using FRx Forecaster, and to analyze budget data.
		Department heads, managers, and other users responsible for submitting, reviewing and applying budget guidelines using the FRx Forecaster 6.7 User's Guide for common budget management functions in FRx Forecaster.
		Network administrators, database administrators and other IT staff using the Forecaster 6.7 Installation and Configuration Guide to install and set up Forecaster, and use the appropriate Integration Guide to configure Forecaster to share data with FRx Financial Reporter.

To create a global online help system that encompassed all three target audiences, Intelligo used RoboHELP HTML.
