Oracle User Productivity Kit (UPK) as a repository for training materials
One of the challenges of providing training support for your organization is keeping track of all of the training resources available to your end users. Often there are multiple places where training materials may be found, and in many different formats. End users often end up frustrated with trying to find the written or on-line resources, and they call your help desk for answers instead.
If you're already using Oracle's User Productivity Kit (UPK) to deliver web-based training, you can take this tool a step further by using it as your single repository for all training materials. Written materials, training videos, policies and procedures, business process flows, and company standards can all be delivered through the UPK Player.
You can take advantage of the latest features of the UPK Developer by placing hyperlinks in a web page at the Module or Section level of your outline. These links can point to your training documents which are stored in a Package within the UPK Player. Storing the documents in the Player gives you greater control over the end product, but you can link to external sites/repositories too.
If you're just beginning to use UPK, this is a great way to begin drawing your end users to the UPK Player, even if you haven't developed any content. UPK's Search function allows your users to search for the documents they need, without placing additional burdens on your intranet site.
